Corrective Exercise

Corrective exercise at Wellness & Performance Lab is the process through which we assess how the body moves and intervene to correct what limits it. It is based on the scientific model of NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine, USA) and helps us identify why a joint hurts, why a movement is not performed correctly, or why a part of the body is under more strain than it should be.

During assessments, we observe how you stand, walk, and perform basic movements. This allows us to identify which muscles are overactive and push the body into incorrect positions and posture, which muscles are weak and do not support the joints properly, and which restrictions prevent free movement.

The corrective exercise process follows four basic principles: first, we relax and unload overly tight muscles; then we restore elasticity with targeted stretches. Next, we activate weak muscles that are not participating enough, and finally, we integrate the new correct movements into functional exercises that fit your daily life.

The result is a body that moves more naturally, without pain, and without wearing out the joints. Corrective exercise is particularly useful when there are muscle imbalances, poor posture, lower back, neck, or shoulder pain, or restrictions that make basic movements difficult.

Our goal is not simply to make you feel better that day, but to create new, proper movement habits that protect you and improve your functionality in the long term.
